ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK FOUR
October 29, 2016
Here we are! Week four! Two more weeks until the big reveal. This has not been my most productive week, despite my grand, golden plans! But I have managed to round up some exciting and adorable accessories for the room that will help this space function to its best ability.
Let us start with my game plan for the space...
I am planning to have three distinct "areas" in the space.
The working area: Here we will either have individual desks for the two school goers or we will have a communal working desk with two chairs. TBD...QUICKLY!
The drawing area: Here we will feature those adorable mint green metal chairs by Pillowfort at Target. These two little cuties will tuck neatly under an Ikea Docksta coffee table, which we found on craigslist for $30! To top this cute little area off, I found the perfect spinning tabletop organizer at TJ Maxx. The little organizer has nine separate compartment to hold, crayons, pencils, pens, markers and whatever else our little Picaso's need to create their masterpieces.
The reading area: Here we have two super chic fold-out lounge chairs from WALMART!? These two seats each fold out into a twin size bed, and are covered in the best blue and white ikat pattern. The children already have a hard time NOT pilling together on these beauties, so we know they are going to enjoy sniuggling in for some exciting literature. I have fallen in deep love with the Charmtroll bed canopy from Ikea and I plan on creating a cozy reading space by placing this charmer above the ikat seats. The last component for this area is a side table; to stack some favorite books a top or keep a drink of water on hand, when a marathon reading session occurs! My local main street store happened to have these perfect garden stools in stock for only $10! The best part of the chinoiserie chic stunners, is the fact that they are NOT ceramic and therefore are much more child friendly.
I love these stools, so much that I snagged the red lacquer one for my powder room!
Beyond these areas we have plans to incorporate the World Market Geo Crinkle Voile Curtain...a mouthful yes, but they are also an eyeful of beautiful. Truly a perfect combination of a geometric print with a hint of ikat.
So now that you all have a better idea of the layout, let us consult our checklist for the space:
