One Room Challenge Spring 2017
April 6, 2017
Hello to everyone! May I start this by saying, how is it already April? I cannot say I miss the non-winter that Georgia provided and I am very excited about the Sprinmer (spring and summer combined) that is currently happening in this wonderful state.
The beautiful sunshine days and warm weather have inspired this round of the One Room Challenge, as I will be tackling our back patio. We live in a beautiful new home and we were very pleased to have a covered porch area which was all wired for an outdoor television (trust me, this was a big moment for the hubs). But, as is with all homes, the more we used the space, the more we realized that we would like a little more patio...que the hubs and a quick visit to my family in Tennessee...
I was greeted upon my return home to a wonderful new slab of concrete, which now runs from one end of our home to the other.
Because I do not want to have mismatched rooflines, we aren't planning on adding any more covered area to the patio. I am also very short on natural light in my living room and I do not want to take away from that in any way, shape or form.
But I am dreaming of string lights over a portion of this new space...and while we are speaking about dreaming; here is the inspiration board for this ORC.
We will be using our trusty Martha Stewart wicker set: which includes a large ottoman, and two chairs. I want to add two chaise lounges, in a matching wicker color, and a couple of the fabulous chinoiserie garden stools! The old patterned cushions will be replaced with the new Trellis patterned set in this Sprinmer citron hue! Throw in my outdoor lights, striped outdoor rug and boxwood topiary, and we have a plan folks!!! Well...1/3 of a plan. The other end of the new pad will require an outdoor "kitchen" to house the hubs new love; our Fast Eddy smoker/grill, as well as a dining area.
I am envisioning something along these lines...
...ambitious? YES. budget conscious? NO. I am hoping for some Goodwill good luck or Craigslist Karma for accessories and/or dining set updates.
I cannot wait to see how everyone else is planning beautiful changes and refreshes on this go around of the Calling it Home, One Room Challenge. Thank you Linda for making this wonderful, crazy, and transformative opportunity!
