interior design trials, triumphs, and inspirations
ORC week 3 Spring 2017
April 20, 2017
Hello to everyone! I hope Easter provided a wonderful weekend of joy and praise! I also hope everyone with children has had time to recover from candy overload...Our neighborhood had a wonderful Easter egg hunt and cul-de-sac picnic on Saturday (pictures coming soon 😂), and then our little family took a surprise trip to the sand and water. It was beautiful and very enjoyable. It was hard to leave! We are already anxious for another taste of the salt water and sea breeze.
But, I was very excited to return home to a doorstep full of cardboard box goodness! The cushions, garden stools, and outdoor lights for the patio arrived while we were away; and hey were the perfect thing to greet us back to our home!
Here we will check the check list as it was in week 2...
1. Hang Pizza sign ✔️ 2. Clean wicker furniture ✔️ 3. Patio rug 4. Cushions 5. Planters 6. Lights 7. Set light posts and hang lights 8. Dining table 9. Cooler table 10. Cover the face of the concrete pad 11. Outdoor kitchen 12. Chaise lounge 13. ACCESSORIES!
That my friends is a long list with a small dent! But as of today we have made more progress...
Fun fabulous fabric!!!!! I found both these wonderful prints on Amazon from Pillow Perfect, and they are certainly perfect pillows.
The black and white zebras play off our "Pina's Pizza" sign and the trellis pattern is so classic I could not resist. I am also in LOVE with he garden stools which I found for a song on Amazon.
The chaise lounge will have the same patterns but in the opposite way: trellis on bottom and a piped zebra pillow. I plan on adding a black lumbar for the chaise. I have a problem with pillows but they are the stack bracelets of the design world; you cannot have too many!
This last photo gives an idea of how all the fabrics/prints will play together. I think they should be great friends! The black and white rug was a must for this area and the mint Sunbrella fabric should work great with the dining furniture we have an eye on at Home Depot...not to mention the fabric is on clearance at Ballard Designs. So back to the list...
