One Room Challenge Fall 2017
October 5, 2017
Hello INSPIRATION and ORGANIZATION!
It is one of those special times of the year when hopes are high and optimism is endless: The One Room Challenge. Over the span of six weeks, bloggers transform or reinvent a space into a gorgeous completed project. Even if things take a bit longer or do not come together the way they were planned at the end of the timeline, there is a sense of accomplishment and commrodery with all the others who endured the ORC.
This will be my third time completing the ORC. I first completed a classroom for a pair of adorable little homeschool pupils...
For this go around, it was a toss up for which room to tackle: laundry vs. dining. The laundry would be a bigger makeover but the dining room would be utilized for Thanksgiving as soon as the ORC wraps. So...which to pick? Dining room has fewer tasks and offers easily completed projects for myself (read, I won't have to rope in the hubs everyday). It has also sat semi-finished for a year...so dining room it will be!
The beauty of a second floor laundry room is that its convenience outweighs its beauty. For now, the laundry room will be my equivalent to that great big ugly recliner that is undeniably comfortable.
So now the current state of our Dining room:
...this is the view from our staircase and entryway.
...this is the view from our kitchen looking inward to the Dining room.
...the view from the front corner of our room. The library table was made by my Grandfather and will be staying put, as will the vintage gold mirror from my grandmother.
Many new finishes will be coming into the space but the overall layout will not be changing...I am saving my inspiration board for next weeks post! You must come back because it will be fabulous.
As always do not forget to check out all the other participants in this ORC!
