Summer Cocktail Series No. 8 The Summer Sangria
August 12, 2018
It is now August...Does it feel like August marks the end of Summer to anybody else? Maybe I have had the school kid mentality a wee bit too long, because it is still Summer for many more weeks! The days are still nice and long, which beg for an easy cocktail to sip as you enjoy a gorgeous Summer sunset (or in Georgia’s case a late Summer squal).
Here is a sweet and spicy version of one of the OG cocktails, a Sangria. I start this fruity drink with a bottle of Lolailo Sangria. The wine itself already has fruit juice incorporated so you could just add ice and toast; but I like to bring a few other items to the party. Grab a pitcher and add one half a ripe honeydew melon sliced into one to two inch portions. Next toss in a half cup of raspberries and... here is the special part to this recipe... put in two tablespoons of ground ginger! I am a ginger nut, and it adds the warmest spice to this drink while remaining fresh and fruity. Muddle the honeydew, raspberries, and ginger powder until they are well combined. Now you just have to pour the Lolailo into your pitcher.
Grab a deep glass (because you are going to want a lot of this bevy) full with ice and your Summer Sangria. This drink is fruity, floral, and fabulous!
I mean the bottle alone is a fun work of art: don’t you agree? As always, thank y’all so much for stopping bye and Chin Chin to the weekend!
